    Janice Reply:

Great to know that this is helpful to you. It is important to me that we only include books that have been read and recommended by activists/readers. Therefore, as the summer goes on I will be adding books to the list, along with brief descriptions. Please feel free to provide any feedback at all on how we can make the list useful to people such as yourself.

Your suggested reading list emphasizes honor killings and related topics. Attached are links to two important online articles from the Middle East Quarterly that deal with this topic and are readily accessible. http://www.meforum.org/2067/are-honor-killings-simply-domestic-violence and http://www.meforum.org/50/honor-murders-why-the-perps-get-off-easy

    Hi Raina,
Thanks so much for the recommendations. I myself need to get to the book store and buy Leap of Faith. Queen Noor is such an interesting and dynamic public figure.

  4. Irshad Manji says:

Raina and Janice: Believe it or not, I reviewed Queen Noor's book for Canada's newspaper of record, The Globe and Mail, back in 2003. Having just searched for the review online, it appears unavailable unless you purchase a premium subscription to the Globe. I'll try to find the review another way and, if so, will have it posted here. Meanwhile, keep reading!

    Janice Reply:

I would definitely be interested in reading that!

I read Queen's Noor autobiography after returning from the Middle East and shopping at one of the handicraft stores her foundation started. I'd too would love to read your review.

I just heard about this book on PRI, Censoring an Iranian Love Story by Shahriar Mandanipour, that I will be picking up.
